I thought the end of book was good I really liked how Elie stayed strong when it was like close for all the Jews to be free. Like when they was marching from one camp to other Elie stayed strong and tried to keep his dad to stay strong but i didn't like how the dad just gave up hope when it was 2 month before they got out. Know he was tried and weak but he could have try best to keep going. I learn a lot about the Holocaust when I got done with the book about the dehumanizing step the Jews had to go though.

Keithan,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your thoughts on this. What i'm taking away from what you said is: You found out how important it is say what you think and feel, and blogging is one good way to do it. The other thing I'm taking away is your commitment to be an upstander, not a bystander. I hope you don't have to upstand against anything as awful as Nazi persecution, but I think if you keep your eyes and ears open, there is plenty to upsatand for. Thank you for sharing your thinking with me.

I've never read this story before, but it looks like it can be a interesting one to read and that way I can learn about the Holocaust even more. I liked the way you explained on how this project helped you and the things you learned by reading and doing this project. This book looks like a good one because like you said in the ending it says that Elie didn't give hope and I think that's what everyone should do in general. They shouldn't give up in things or lose hope. I can connect to that part of the story with a book I read that was also about the Holocaust. The girl had hope to see her crush again somewhere in Chicago. The girl also had that hope to see her parents once again since she was in Chicago and they where in Germany.
